Cambridge Arts & Sciences (CATS) Cambridge School of Visual & Performing Arts A centre of learning Cambridge is one of the great centres of learning in the world. The university was founded in the 13th Century and has become a major academic research centre. University departments such as the Judge Instituted of Management - a leading centre of Business and Economics studies, the Scott Polar Research Institute and the Cavendish Laboratory have all adcanced world knowledge. |

| Cambridge also offeres many opportunities for the creative arts. There is an annual summer Shakespeare Festival and Cambridge Film Festival; Cambridge Arts Theatre, the ADC, Junction and Cambridge Drama Centre offer a variety of programmes. Museums and galleries range from the traditional Fitzwilliam, with its newly constructed arts wing - an architectural feature in its own right, to the beautiful Kettle's Yard, home of a local artist and collector, which has developed as one of the City's treasures.

Classic Course Students are taught English for 3 hours every morning (15 hours per week) and are grouped according to language level. There is a full programme of afternoon and evening activities lwhich takes advantage of all that Cambridge has to offer. For F.5 and F. 7 students

English plus Art & Design This course allows non native speakers of English to develop their artisitic interests at the same time as improving their language skills. English is taught in the morning, while a practical, varied art programme is taught in the afternoons. Topics vary but include opportunities to try different projects every afternoon, such as sculpture, painting, printmaking, textiles or photography. Life drawing is offered one afternoon per week. Students may choose to enrol for any period from one to eight weeks. Minimum age 15.

English plus Drama This two week programme allows students to pursue their love of drama through acting, movement and voice, culminating in a production at the end of the course. Suitable for non native speakers of English, the course has the added benefit of improving students' confidence in speaking. English is taught in the morning, while drama classes are taught in the afternoons in the drama studios. For F.5 and F. 7 students
